New iPhone Fold leak details display size, cameras, and more

We’re getting closer to September’s launch of the iPhone 17, but Apple is already well on its way to finalizing its 2026 lineup. The first iPhone Fold is expected to arrive next fall, and a new leak has outlined the device’s display details, cameras, and more.

iPhone Fold current specs detailed with new render

Weibo leaker Digital Chat Station posted today with the latest on Apple’s iPhone Fold prototype.

Recently, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo stated that Apple is still working to finalize many specs of its first foldable iPhone.

Digital Chat Station corroborates that, saying it is still in the un-finalized testing stage.

However, the latest specs include the following:

  • Display size: 7.58-inch inner display
  • Cameras: Dual 48MP rear lenses
  • Hinge: Composite material of durable but amorphous metallic glass [translation]
  • Device body: Titanium

The 7.58-inch display size comes in a bit smaller than other sources have reported. Kuo, for example, said it would be approximately 7.8 inches.

I don't think the render is accurate, because the aspect ratio for the closed screen will look really weird.

Digital Chat Station also includes a render of what the iPhone Fold might look like when unfolded, and it looks an awful lot like a smaller iPad mini.

The dual 48MP camera lenses makes sense, since Apple is expected to bump all of its rear lenses to 48MP this year with the iPhone 17 Pro models.

Presumably the pairing will include wide and ultra wide lenses, like the entry iPhone includes. However, there have been no rumors yet on the specific cameras included. Apple might opt for including the telephoto instead of an ultra wide.
