Apple TV+ has become a go-to streamer for sci-fi fans, and very soon, there will be two huge—but very different—sci-fi epics airing at the same time: Foundation and Invasion.
Invasion season 3 will join Foundation in current Apple TV+ sci-fi offerings
Apple recently started airing Foundation season 3, which has been called “one of the best shows of the year and a must-watch show for all sci-fi fans.”
Foundation seems to be gaining strong viewership too, regularly sitting at or near the top of Apple’s most popular shows. New episodes will continue debuting through September 12.
But there’s another high-profile sci-fi series premiering soon.
It offers a more simplified “aliens invade earth” narrative.
Invasion season 3 will arrive Friday, August 22 on Apple TV+ with its first episode, followed by weekly releases through October 24.

“Invasion” follows an alien invasion through different perspectives around the world. In season three, those perspectives collide for the first time, as the series’ main characters are brought together to work as a team on a critical mission to infiltrate the alien mothership. The ultimate apex aliens have finally emerged, rapidly spreading their deadly tendrils across our planet. It will take all our heroes working together, using all their experience and expertise, to save our species. New relationships are formed, old relationships are challenged and even shattered as an international cast of characters must become a team before it’s too late.
Invasion seasons 1 and 2 are available to watch here on Apple TV+.
Reviews have generally agreed that Foundation is improving with each new season. Invasion season 2 was similarly seen more favorably than its freshman outing, so here’s hoping season 3 proves even stronger.
