iPhone 17 pre-order shipping times start slipping to October

Today is iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone Air pre-order day, a day that is always a combination of exciting and stressful for Apple fans.

The first pre-orders are scheduled to arrive on September 19, but shipping estimates have already started to slip for some of the new iPhone models …

The iPhone 17 Pro Max is facing the longest shipping delays, with most configurations now showing an estimated delivery date of October 6 to October 13. The Silver and Cosmic Orange colors appear to be slightly more limited in availability than the Deep Blue. Meanwhile, the iPhone 17 Pro is still showing as available for launch day delivery in all combinations of colorway and storage.

The base model iPhone 17 is also still widely available for launch day delivery in all color and storage combinations.

What about the all-new, ultra-thin iPhone Air? It’s all still available for launch day delivery in all combinations of color and storage.

I usually don’t pre-order the iPhones when they come out I usually wait about a month then go to the store pick one up and then I get instant credit from my phone that I’m trading in. Also, I don’t have to worry about FedEx or UPS losing it.

Pre-order shipping dates aren’t necessarily a great metric for gauging how well each iPhone 17 model is selling. We don’t know what Apple’s supply of each iPhone model was like ahead of pre-orders. IPhone 17 Pro Max may be far more popular than the rest of the new iPhone models, but it’s also possible that Apple had fewer units available.

Did you place an iPhone 17 or iPhone Air pre-order today? If so, which model did you pick, and what’s your estimated arrival date? Let us know down in the comments.
