The new Apple Watch Hermès comes with a must-have feature: Clarus the Dogcow

The Apple Watch Hermès has always seemed to serve as nothing more than a way for Apple to separate fashionistas from their money. But the Series 11 model comes with the ultimate new feature for longtime Apple enthusiasts …

Apple Watch Hermès

After the original gold Apple Watch Edition failed to attract the interest Apple had hoped for, the company tried a new tactic for selling a fashion-focused edition of the wearable. The Apple Watch Hermès offered a series of designer bands that cost more than most of the watches, complete with an exclusive watch face.

Since the initiative has survived all the way through from the original Apple Watch to the latest Series 11, one has to assume it is reasonably successful.

Clarus the Dogcow

Macintosh icon designer Susan Kare created the dogcow glyph for the original model back in 1984. It quickly came to be loved by both the Macintosh team and early buyers of the machine.

A delightful easter egg

The latest Series 11 version comes with 24 watch face animations, one for each hour of the day and night. Basic Apple Guy noted that one of these features Clarus the dogcow.

As wonderful as this is, not everybody seems to feel that this quite justifies the $1,400 asking price.

The face is also available with older Hermès models.
