tvOS 26.1 beta 1 available now for Apple TV 4K

Following the public launch of tvOS 26 just last week, Apple has now debuted a new wave of beta software releases. tvOS 26.1 beta 1 is now available for developers.

Apple releases tvOS 26.1 to developers for beta testing

Apple TV users running the developer beta have a new update to install today.

tvOS 26.1 beta 1 is rolling out now to developers. No sign of a public beta release just yet.

The update will likely ship to all users in late October based on prior patterns.

For now though, Apple is kicking off a new beta cycle so it can test tvOS 26.1 with a larger group and get feedback and analytics to make the update ready for launch.

It is currently unknown what new features or changes tvOS 26.1 beta 1 might introduce.

In past years, Apple would often announce features at WWDC that didn’t ship in the initial fall release. Thus, we would have a sense already of what changes might arrive in x.1 and x.2 updates.

This year, there’s very little announced that hasn’t already shipped. So whatever new features arrive will be a complete surprise this time around.
