Following the public launch of tvOS 26 just last week, Apple has now debuted a new wave of beta software releases. tvOS 26.1 beta 1 is now available for developers.
Apple releases tvOS 26.1 to developers for beta testing
Apple TV users running the developer beta have a new update to install today.
tvOS 26.1 beta 1 is rolling out now to developers. No sign of a public beta release just yet.
The update will likely ship to all users in late October based on prior patterns.
For now though, Apple is kicking off a new beta cycle so it can test tvOS 26.1 with a larger group and get feedback and analytics to make the update ready for launch.
tvOS 26.0 just shipped to all users last week, bringing new features like:
- Liquid Glass design
- TV app revamp
- iPhone mic support for Apple Music Sing
- New screensavers
- AirPlay speaker improvement
- and more
It is currently unknown what new features or changes tvOS 26.1 beta 1 might introduce.
In past years, Apple would often announce features at WWDC that didn’t ship in the initial fall release. Thus, we would have a sense already of what changes might arrive in x.1 and x.2 updates.
This year, there’s very little announced that hasn’t already shipped. So whatever new features arrive will be a complete surprise this time around.
Have you installed tvOS 26.1 beta 1? Notice any new features? Let us know in the comments.
