Today Apple released two noteworthy software updates for iPhone.
iOS 26.0.1 debuted for users running Apple’s most recent major software version. It includes a variety of bug fixes and security updates.
But Apple has also released iOS 18.7.1 for users who haven’t yet upgraded to the latest OS version.

Only one security fix is mentioned, and it involves FontParser.
Impact: Processing a maliciously crafted font may lead to unexpected app termination or corrupt process memory
Description: An out-of-bounds write issue was addressed with improved bounds checking.
Apple’s release notes are often not comprehensive. As a result, it’s always possible Apple has other bug fixes or minor changes included in iOS 18.7.1.
However, it makes sense that this would be a smaller update than iOS 26.0.1, since Apple has far fewer bugs to eliminate in iOS 18 than it does in iOS 26.
