Apple reportedly hiring NPR’s podcasting strategy chief with Spotify background

It sounds like Apple will soon welcome a new hire in the podcast leadership department.

According to NYT media reporter Ben Mullin, NPR’s podcasting strategy chief is heading to Apple.

Collin Campbell, NPR’s podcasting strategy chief, is leaving the network. Three sources tell me he’s joining Apple.

According to LinkedIn, Campbell joined NPR in 2023 as
SVP of Podcasting Strategy and Franchise Development. Prior to that, Campbell was Spotify’s Gimlet Executive Editor.

The LA-based former NPR podcast boss was responsible for “all podcast performance, growth of franchise programs, and new show development for audio and video” while at the company.

We’ll update our coverage when we learn more about his new role at Apple.
