Here’s what the first spatial stylus for Apple Vision Pro can (and can’t yet) do

The new M5 Apple Vision Pro has arrived, which you can read all about in our official review. Alongside the new headset and standalone Dual Knit Band, Apple is selling the new Logitech Muse spatial stylus for Apple Vision Pro.

Spatial stylus for Apple Vision Pro

Muse is designed to make working, creating, and collaborating in visionOS more natural by blending precise motion tracking with tactile feedback. The stylus-like device supports six degrees of freedom for fluid, low-latency motion, allowing users to draw, annotate, and interact in 3D space.

Muse also provides real-time haptic feedback that adds texture and depth to virtual actions. A pressure-sensitive tip and force-sensing button let users vary line thickness whether sketching on a surface or in midair. The device accommodates multiple grip styles, supports interchangeable tips for different tactile experiences, and charges quickly over USB-C.

Together, Apple and Logitech describe Muse as combining a familiar form with advanced spatial technology for a more immersive and expressive Vision Pro workflow.

Real-world experience

While we haven’t had the opportunity to test the Logitech Muse ourselves, Phil Traut shares their highly informative first-hand experience with the Apple Vision Pro spatial stylus.

Somewhat surprisingly, the Logitech Muse launched this week without any native visionOS integration. Apple first announced the product in June when previewing the major software update to Apple Vision Pro that has since been released.

That means despite being specifically designed for use with visionOS, built-in Apple software like Freeform and Notes aren’t compatible with the Logitech Muse for input yet.

However, Traut had the chance to try the Muse spatial stylus with an app called Crayon for Apple Vision Pro. You can see in their demonstration that the new accessory helps you craft basic illustrations as well as more advanced 3D creations. It looks like a lot of fun!

The update to Crayon that supports the Logitech Muse is expected to arrive on November 7. Crayon also works with hand-based input, but the spatial stylus should greatly enhance the experience. Logitech Muse is available to purchase for $129.95 from Apple.
