Red Dead Redemption is coming to iOS next month

The iPhone is about to get another AAA console-quality game: Red Dead Redemption is launching on iOS in just a few weeks. Here are the details.

Red Dead Redemption available December 2 on App Store

Here’s Rockstar Games’ announcement:

On December 2, the epic Western adventures Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare will be available for the latest mobile devices and on current generation consoles — with free upgrades, the ability to carry over game progress, and a number of enhancements.

Step into the events immediately following the blockbuster Red Dead Redemption 2, in the critically acclaimed tale of John Marston’s journey to bury his blood-stained past. In its zombie-horror companion Undead Nightmare, fight to find a cure for the zombie plague that has overrun the frontier. All these new versions feature the complete single-player experiences of both games, and also include bonus content from the Game of the Year Edition.

The announcement says Red Dead Redemption for iOS will include “mobile-friendly control options.”

Though no specifics are shared, hopefully there will be support not only for on-screen touch controls but also game controllers via Bluetooth.

As part of Netflix’s shifting games strategy, anyone with a Netflix subscription will be able to play Red Dead Redemption on iOS for free.

But the game will also be available separately on the App Store for non-Netflix subscribers. Pricing has not been shared at this time, nor are there any details on compatibility requirements.

Red Dead Redemption isn’t a new game by any means, having originally debuted in 2010. But it is a very popular, highly acclaimed title and should gain a fresh infusion of users as it arrives not only on iOS, but also PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and Android.

If you’re into gaming on iOS, there are a few improvements coming to the Apple Games app in iOS 26.2 you can read about here.
