AirPods Pro 3 just got new beta firmware ahead of iOS 26.2 launch

Last week Apple released new firmware for all users with AirPods Pro 3, AirPods Pro 2, and AirPods 4. Now today, the company has a fresh firmware release available for beta testers who own AirPods Pro 3.

New AirPods beta follows last week’s new public firmware

iOS 26.2 is coming soon, bringing AirPods Live Translation to more users than ever.

It’s possible we’ll see some additional AirPods features arrives in iOS 26.2 too, as Apple just shipped a new beta firmware update for testers.

Today’s new firmware is build 8B5025a.

Apple tends to release AirPods firmware on a slightly different schedule than its software updates. Sometimes the two sync up, but other times they vary.

For example, it’s possible that last week’s new public firmware launch is the last public AirPods release before iOS 26.2 ships to all users.

However, since there are still several weeks before that public release, perhaps today’s beta firmware will be ready to launch by then too.

The official notes for the latest public firmware simply mention “Bug fixes and other improvements,” and Apple does tend to highlight new features when they’re available. So maybe today’s beta will have a short testing cycle and ship to all users ahead of iOS 26.2.

In any case, Apple hasn’t shared any details on what to expect from today’s beta firmware, but we’ll keep you posted on anything new we discover.

Have you installed the new AirPods Pro 3 beta firmware? Notice any changes? Let us know in the comments.
