Apple TV may be known primarily for TV shows like Severance or the new Pluribus series, but the streamer has been on a winning streak with new movies. Here’s a rundown of the latest films to check out, and what’s coming next.
Apple TV’s film lineup this fall has been especially strong

After pivoting away from most major theatrical rollouts a year ago, Apple TV has found great success with its streaming-focused film strategy.
This fall, the streamer got two movies with major Hollywood stars and directors:
- Highest 2 Lowest reunited Denzel Washington and Spike Lee for a NYC-based crime thriller
- The Lost Bus starred Matthew McConaughey and was directed by Paul Greengrass (Bourne franchise)
Both films were critically acclaimed, as was the recent Brett Goldstein-Imogen Poots romance All of You.
Apple TV has also recently premiered two documentary films that are getting a lot of buzz.
Come See Me in the Good Light arrived last week as a Sundance award winner. Here’s Apple’s description:
a poignant and unexpectedly funny love story about poets Andrea Gibson and Megan Falley facing an incurable cancer diagnosis with joy, wit and an unshakable partnership
Stiller & Meara: Nothing Is Lost is another moving documentary film, with Ben Stiller chronicling the story of his comedy icon parents.
Two big movies coming to Apple TV next

Over the next few weeks, Apple TV has two films coming that should prove popular throughout the holiday season.
The Family Plan 2 premieres this Friday, November 21 as the sequel to Mark Wahlberg’s hit action-comedy from 2023.
This time around, the film is set in Europe during the holidays. And alongside the returning cast from the original, Kit Harington has been added as the new villain.
The first film quickly became Apple’s most-viewed movie at the time, and with a larger subscriber base now, the sequel could fare even better. Here’s the trailer:
Following The Family Plan 2, Apple has what will almost certainly be its biggest movie of the year.
F1 The Movie will hit Apple TV on Friday, December 12.
Following its theatrical success and Blu-ray and PVOD debuts, this will mark the first time Apple’s summer blockbuster hits the Apple TV streaming service.
So whether you saw F1 in theaters, or have been waiting for streaming, soon you’ll get to see the big-budget hit as part of your Apple TV subscription.
Apple TV is available for $12.99 per month and features hit TV shows and movies like Ted Lasso, Severance, Pluribus, and more. You can also get it through the Apple One bundle.
