Another Apple TV show has been pulled from the release schedule at the last minute

In September, Apple controversially cancelled the launch of new series The Savant, seemingly in the wake of the murder of political activist Charlie Kirk. The company said it looks forward to releasing the show at a later time, but two months on, there’s still no release date in sight. It’s listed as “coming at a later date” in the TV app.

Meanwhile, Apple TV has perhaps just repeated the same fiasco for a second time. The service was set to premiere French-language series The Hunt on December 3, having released a trailer earlier this month. But now, all references to The Hunt have been scrubbed, including removal of the press release from the Apple TV PR newsroom and the YouTube trailer is now marked private.

Unlike The Savant, The Hunt does not even have a listing inside the TV app anymore.

While it has been wiped from the main Apple TV account YouTube channel, you can still find the trailer currently on the Apple Australia YouTube channel.

The show was about a group of friends who go on hunting trips being mysteriously targeted and shot at by a rival group. It was greenlit back in June 2024 under the working title “A L’ombre Des Forets”, and was set to join Apple’s growing roster of French-language originals.

It’s currently unclear if there is a reason why The Hunt has been pulled at this late stage, or whether it will return to the Apple TV schedule at all. We have asked Apple for comment and will update if we hear back.
