The Formula 1 season kicks off next weekend, and it marks the start of Apple’s exclusive broadcast partnership in the United States. The core of the deal is that all races will stream live (and on-demand) on Apple TV, but the company is going all out to increase the exposure of F1 across all of its platforms.
Here’s what you can expect to see when the first race broadcasts start on Apple TV app, Apple Music, and more.
As a reminder, all Formula 1 live broadcasts will be available with an Apple TV subscription, no additional package or upsell required. You can get Apple TV for $12.99/month, or $99/year. It’s also part of the Apple One bundle, carrier deals and more.
Apple TV
Inside the Apple TV app, subscribers will find a dedicated tab for Formula 1. Apple TV will stream all practice, qualifying sessions, sprints, and the Grand Prix on Sunday, for all 24 races of the 2026 season.
On race day, the Formula 1 tab will transform with quick links to watch the broadcast, as well as easy ways to enter Multiview modes. That means if you are a fan of one team in particular, it just takes one tap to watch both drivers’ perspectives in a split-screen layout. There’s also a special camera feed you can choose that switches to the onboard view of whichever driver is currently in first place. (Multiview is supported on Apple TV 4K, iPad and Vision Pro.)
The Home tab of Apple TV app will also feature promotions for the ongoing live race, and it’s just one tap to transition seamlessly from the preview to the full-screen live stream experience.
Apple is also partnering with Netflix, bringing the popular docuseries Drive to Survive to Apple TV subscribers for the first time.
Apple Music and Podcasts
In Apple Music, on race day, Apple Music Radio will also feature a freely-available audio commentary to follow along with. That means you can follow the progress of the race while you are driving, for instance. The audio race commentary is available for free in the Radio tab, no subscription required.
There will also be a new dedicated F1 hub inside Apple Music that includes collections of related music, including warm-up playlists curated by some of the drivers on the grid, DJ mixes, and more. A new ‘Sounds of the Circuit’ editorial playlist will feature music that matches the culture of that weekend’s race venue.
Apple Podcasts will also have a F1 hub, showcasing the most popular podcasts in the world of racing and Formula 1.
Apple News and Sports
Apple News will also have dedicated sections covering Formula 1, featuring written coverage from a variety of publishers. This includes coverage of driver and constructors’ standings, interviews with drivers, highlights and more.
Each Grand Prix will have a dedicated page featuring relevant stories from the weekend, and live updating score cards. And later in the season, Apple News will feature real-time video previews of the race broadcast, making it easy to keep up with the action.
Apple Sports will also have real-time leaderboards and a quick link shortcut to redirect to Apple TV to watch along live. You can also get Live Activities during races and an F1 standings widget for your iPhone’s home screen.
Tune into all the action beginning next weekend. The Melbourne Grand Prix takes place on Sunday, March 7. Apple TV’s coverage will start with the first practice session on the Thursday night in the US, at 8:30 PM ET; and if you want a free taster, all practice sessions stream for all, no subscription required.
