Billy Zane lands recurring role in Apple TV’s golf comedy ‘Stick’

The Titanic and Twin Peaks actor will join Stick as a recurring cast member for season 2. Here are the details.

News comes as two more actors are upped to series regulars

One of Apple TV’s highest-profile shows last year was Stick, a golf-themed comedy starring Owen Wilson (Midnight in Paris), Lilli Kay (Your Honor), Marc Maron (Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere), among others.

The show earned an 82% average Tomatometer score across its 10-episode run and was renewed for a second season as the finale aired.

As reported by Deadline, Zane will join the series’ recurring cast for Season 2, which comes just days after another report confirmed that Judy Greer (The Big Bang Theory) and Timothy Olyphant (Live Free or Die Hard) were upped to series regulars.

If you’re into feel-good comedies, such as Ted Lasso and Shrinking, you’ll likely enjoy Stick. Here’s Apple’s synopsis for the show:

“Stick” is a new sports comedy series created by Jason Keller and starring and executive produced by Owen Wilson. Wilson stars as Pryce Cahill, an over-the-hill, ex-pro golfer whose career was derailed prematurely 20 years ago. After the collapse of his marriage and while working at an Indiana sporting goods store, Pryce hedges his bets, and future, entirely on a troubled 17-year-old golf phenom named Santi (Peter Dager). “Stick” is a heartfelt, feel-good comedy about a found family and their relationships set within the world of golf as it has never been shown before.

Despite being confirmed for a second season, there is still no timeline for when it is expected to premiere.
