Apple Arcade’s April lineup will introduce three new titles to the subscription gaming platform. These include a couple of the most acclaimed indie games of the last few years.
Indie wins coming to Apple Arcade
Starting April 2, Apple Arcade will include DREDGE+, Unpacking+, and My Very Hungry Caterpillar+. Both DREDGE and Unpacking are indie hits that have already proven to be fan favorites outside of Apple Arcade.
Apple says DREDGE+ will include all released DLC content when it comes to Arcade next month:
DREDGE+ brings the complete edition of the acclaimed fishing adventure to Apple Arcade. This version includes all released DLC content: The Pale Reach, The Iron Rig, Blackstone Key, and the custom rod. Players can experience the full breadth of this haunting maritime journey as they traverse foggy archipelagoes, dredge up treasures from the depths, and uncover mysteries lurking beneath the waves.
Meanwhile, Unpacking+, which is the fully unlocked version of a game that has kept my kids busy recently, is another indie darling joining Arcade:
Recognized as a Cultural Impact winner of the 2023 App Store Awards, Unpacking+ is a zen puzzle game about the familiar experience of removing possessions out of boxes and arranging them in a new home. Part block-fitting puzzle, part home decoration, Unpacking+ invites Arcade players to create a satisfying living space as they learn clues about the life they are putting together.

Third, we have everyone’s favorite hungry caterpillar, My Very Hungry Caterpillar+, crawling onto Arcade in April:
Based on the character that has captured the hearts of millions, the multi-award-winning and App Store “Best of” My Very Hungry Caterpillar+ lets players care for their very own pet caterpillar. As players feed him, play with him, and explore his world, he grows bigger and unlocks new activities, eventually spinning a cocoon and transforming into a beautiful butterfly. It brings Carle’s timeless story to life in a delightful, interactive experience for the whole family to enjoy.
Apple also highlights a Star Wars-inspired update to Disney SpellStruck coming March 19, and Puyo Puyo Garden mode coming to Puyo Puyo Puzzle Pop on April 9.
Apple Arcade is available, ad-free and with no in-app purchases, for $6.99/month after a one-month free trial. One subscription unlocks access for up to five users through Family Sharing.
