Four new Macs are launching later this year, here’s what’s coming

Apple just launched three new Macs this month, but there are another four Macs rumored to debut throughout the remainder of the year. Here’s what’s coming.

Mac Studio with M5 Max, M5 Ultra

The Mac Studio was last updated exactly one year ago, with this latest model offering M4 Max and M3 Ultra chips.

Rumors indicate a new Mac Studio will launch in the months ahead with M5 Max and a brand new M5 Ultra chip.

No design changes are expected, but with AI’s growth pushing computing needs further than ever, the M5 Ultra model of Mac Studio could prove especially intriguing.

M5 iMac with new colors

M4 iMac

Apple’s all-in-one desktop, the iMac, is set for an M5 update later this year.

The M4 model launched nearly 18 months ago, and an M5 version is expected to arrive before hitting the 2-year mark.

Beyond improved performance, the M5 iMac is rumored to have at least one other notable change: a refreshed palette of colors.

Apple gave the M4 iMac new colors too, so it’s surprising that there’s yet another fresh color slate coming already. Perhaps the M5 model will borrow some of the MacBook Neo’s color options.

Mac mini with M5, M5 Pro

MacBook Neo has rightfully been praised for its low price point, but the Mac mini remains the most affordable Mac you can buy—at least, before adding a display, keyboard, and mouse or trackpad.

The Mac mini is expected to get an update this year with two chip options:

  • M5
  • M5 Pro

Like the new Mac Studio, we’re not expecting any outward design changes. But with the Mac mini gaining new popularity as a device for OpenClaw and Perplexity’s ‘Personal Computer,’ a simple chip bump should prove welcome nonetheless.

M6 MacBook Pro with brand new design

MacBook Pro M6

Apple just launched the MacBook Pro with M5 Pro and M5 Max, but another MacBook Pro is coming this year too.

The M6 MacBook Pro will represent a major step forward for the Mac. It’s personally the model I’ve been most excited about for a while.

New features currently rumored include:

  • brand new industrial design that’s thinner and lighter
  • OLED display
  • touchscreen, the first in a Mac
  • Dynamic Island instead of the current notch
  • possibly even a C2 cellular modem from Apple

Where MacBook Neo sparked fresh excitement for Mac newcomers, the M6 MacBook Pro could prove popular among long-time Mac users.

Are you planning to upgrade to one of the M5 or M6 models above? Let us know in the comments.
