Apple Maps gets a ‘Chief of War’ tour guide with spots in Hawai’i and New Zealand

If you’ve been watching Chief of War on Apple TV+ and you’re anything like me, you probably spend quite a good amount of time of each episode marveling at the fantastic landscapes.

Now, thanks to a new Apple Maps guide, you can take a virtual tour, or plan actual visits, to the parks, beaches, campgrounds, and even historic palaces featured in the show. Here’s how.

Plan your visit to 10 historic and iconic sites

As explained on the Apple TV+ X account, all you have to do is look for Chief of War on Apple Maps, and you’ll see “Chief of War Tour: Hawai’i & New Zealand” among the results.

Once you tap or click on it, you’ll be taken to a gallery that currently has 10 places featured on the show, with possibly more to come.

The list includes:

  • Waitakere Rangers Regional Park
  • Bethells Beach
  • Kualoa Ranch
  • Kalapana State Wayside Park
  • Hūnānāniho Campground
  • Puukohola Heiau National Historic Site
  • Iolani Palace
  • Kualoa Regional Park
  • Waikiki Beach
  • Puʻu Kaʻuiki

All sites have complementary information, like opening hours, a brief description of its historical context and significance, and an image of a Chief of War scene from that specific spot.

You can save specific places to your favorites on Apple Maps, or add the entire list as an Apple Maps guide. Apple also suggests the Chief of War original soundtrack by Hans Zimmer & James Everingham to go with your visit, which is bound to make it that much more epic, whether virtual or in real life.
