Apple launches rich new web interface for the App Store

Apple has launched a dramatic new web interface for the App Store. You can now get the full App Store experience right in your browser, with dedicated pages for the iPhone, iPad, Mac, Vision, Watch, and TV app libraries.

Previously, Apple’s “apps.apple.com” domain simply redirected you to a generic page about the App Store on Apple’s website. Now, it takes you to a full-fledged version of the App Store you can browse on your computer.

The App Store on the web now offers a full replica of the “Today” tab that you’ll recognize from your iPhone. There’s easy access to ongoing Special Events, top charts, editorial curation, and more.

The redesign also extends to app product pages. App product pages now feature a media-rich interface with new iconography for things like categories, awards, Events, and more.

There’s also a new search interface that allows you to quickly find a specific app. Previously, the only real way to do this was to Google the app name, then launch the app’s product page from the Google search result.

You can check out the new App Store web interface here. There’s a toggle in the upper-left corner to switch between the different App Stores for each of Apple’s platforms. What do you think of it? IS it something you’ll use? Let us know down in the comments.
