Apple releases macOS Tahoe 26.2 beta 3

Just a few days after rolling out macOS Tahoe 26.2 beta 2 for developers, beta 3 is now out. Here’s what to expect.

New Edge Light effect was the sole new feature on beta 2

Last week, Apple introduced a new Edge Light effect on macOS Tahoe 26.2 beta 2, which adds a virtual light around the edges of the display during video calls.

Under the hood, Apple didn’t ship many changes on macOS Tahoe 26.2 beta 2, which is an indication that this release might be on the lighter side when it comes to new features.

We are digging through the new code and will report back if we find anything noteworthy.

The release build rolling out to developers right now is 25C5048a.

How to install the new beta

Here’s how to install the macOS Tahoe 26.2 developer beta 3:

  1. Backup your Mac
  2. Open System Settings
  3. Go to General ⇾ Software Update
  4. Click the ‘i’ icon next to Beta Updates
  5. From the dropdown menu in the top-right, select the macOS Developer Tahoe Beta
  6. Hit ‘Done’
