Bradley started his career in telecommunications, working for the original IP TV provider in the US, and also was part of their fiber-to-the-home rollout. From 2009-2021, Bradley worked for a private school, running the information technology department and technology integration in the classroom. He manages a network of 15 switches, 100+ access points, hundreds of Macs and iPads, and multiple phone systems across four separate campuses across the city. He’s well-versed in enterprise Wi-Fi, macOS and iOS system management, school technology, and SaaS tools. Currently, he works at Cribl, where he runs content marketing, helping companies understand how to manage observability data best. Meeting Owls have become the “TiVo” or “Kleenax” for conference room cameras. Every product I see in conference rooms that isn’t a Meeting Owl often looks like it was designed to mimic the look and functionality. I’ve been using them since 2019, and they are the best way to bridge the gap between in-room meeting attendees and folks dialing in remotely. Yesterday, we saw one of the largest IT outages in history, and it looked a lot like what many people had predicted would happen when the year 2000 hit and the Y2K bug occurred. Yesterday, people around the world began seeing the “blue screen of death” as they began their work day. This error caused delays for banks, airlines, railways, cellular providers, TV and radio broadcasters, and grocery stores. It only affected Windows, though.
A problem in a security update from CrowdStrike caused the error. You can read their blog for more information. CrowdStrike is a fantastic company, and they make incredible products. Their products are simply some of the best security tools in the industry, but unfortunately – accidents can happen.
