Qi2 is the latest wireless charging standard the Wireless Power Consortium developed, incorporating Magnetic Power Profile (MPP) based on Apple’s MagSafe technology. This ensures accurate alignment and faster charging speeds of up to 15 watts – significantly improving the existing standard. Qi2 is backward compatible, allowing older Qi devices to charge on Qi2 chargers at slower speeds. JumpCloud has released its Q1 2024 small to medium-sized enterprise (SME) IT Trends Report. The latest edition of the report looks into the impact of artificial intelligence on identity management, security challenges, economic uncertainties, and the growing reliance on managed service providers (MSPs) in IT operations. The report included 1,213 small to medium-sized (SME) IT decision-makers in the UK, US, and India.

With the beta release of visionOS 1.1, Apple IT managers were greeted with a surprise: device management support would now be available. With the folks at Mosyle and Jamf adding early support for their customers, it’s evident to me what’s happening here: Apple expects Vision Pro to be used at work, and device management support is their signal to businesses that Vision Pro means business.

A few weeks ago, I looked at the state of Wi-Fi 6E and noted that it was probably time to start paying attention to when you’re deploying products that support the new standard and plan your deployment around that. We’ve started to see early discussion of Wi-Fi 7, though. How does this new Wi-Fi standard impact your planning – should you skip Wi-Fi 6E entirely?

I believe 2024 will be a year in which we see a lot of mergers and acquisitions in the enterprise IT and software industries.
