Twitch launches SharePlay on Group FaceTime with chat, cheer, and more video watching features

Apple released SharePlay for Group FaceTime for iPhone and iPad in iOS 15.1, and the fun collaboration feature is coming soon to the Mac. Apple supports SharePlay with many of its media apps, including Music and TV, and more third-party apps are adding creative ways to work with Group FaceTime as well. The latest is the game-centric video streaming service Twitch.

Apple Editors’ Choice award-winner Notability is out today with a major update for its iPhone, iPad, and Mac app. With the release comes a shift to a freemium model so anyone can use the software at no cost. Meanwhile, the full Notability experience is now free for K-12 institutions.

Pixelmator Pro adds full support for macOS Monterey, featuring 28 Shortcuts actions

The prolific Pixelmator team has today released the latest update to their flagship image and photo editor, Pixelmator Pro. This version brings full support for macOS Monterey, including a library of Shortcuts actions, and takes full advantage of the power of the latest M1 Pro and M1 Max chips in the new MacBook Pros.

There’s also a new Split Comparison view for comparing layer adjustments, a new Bokeh blur filter, and more enhancements.

Apple seeds macOS Monterey beta 9 to developers [Update: Public beta too]

Apple has now released macOS Monterey beta 9 for developers. As we move closer to a fall release, the big feature we haven’t seen fully available to test is Universal Control and we’ll be looking to see if it has been finally enabled in the ninth beta.
