AT&T offers free DirecTV Now, internet, and BOGO iPhone X in select cities w/ new plans

Starting Thursday, March 1st, AT&T will be hitting the streets of Los Angeles, Chicago and New York to offer customers special deals on a variety of its services and popular devices, including DirecTV Now and iPhone X. Along with these limited geographical offers, AT&T is celebrating the roll out of its new Unlimited Plus Enhanced plans. Full details on both can be found below.

AT&T names first three cities for multi-gig 5G service, nine more to follow

AT&T promised it would start rolling out what it claims will be the first true mobile 5G service before the end of the year, and it has just announced the first three cities in line to receive it.

We plan to offer mobile 5G to customers in a dozen cities, including parts of Dallas, Atlanta and Waco, Texas, by the end of this year. We’ll announce additional cities in the coming months.

Sling TV gains Showtime add-on as AT&T bundles HBO with unlimited data plans

Sling TV announced today that it will be begin offering Showtime as an add-on channel for subscribers. The monthly rate when bundled with Sling TV’s live video streaming service is competitive to Showtime’s standalone option. While Sling TV is expanding its channel lineup, AT&T is using free access to HBO to promote its new unlimited data plans.

Mobile data price-war continues as AT&T announces a $60 ‘unlimited’ deal – with catches, of course

AT&T’s DirecTV Now streaming TV service: launching November 30 from $35/month + free Apple TV offer

AT&T has officially unveiled details about its upcoming streaming TV service called DirecTV Now. The company first announced the subscription video service back in March, promising “on-demand and live programming from many networks, plus premium add-on options” over the Internet similar to Sling TV and PlayStation Vue. Details on pricing and availability have been limited until now.

Report: AT&T and Time Warner holding early discussions about possible merger [Update]

[Update 10/21: WSJ now reports that the talks are further along than previously reported, adding that a deal could be announced this weekend.]

While Apple was once rumored to have an interest in acquiring Time Warner, Bloomberg now reports that AT&T has recently held discussions with the company to talk about a possible merger. The report cites “people familiar with the matter” and claims that, while the talks at this stage are informal, the two companies have focused on “building relations.”

AT&T boosting data plans, dropping overage charges ahead of iPhone 7 launch

Carriers often try to attract switchers and new subscribers during new iPhone season, and AT&T is doing its part today by upgrading its mobile plans with some modest data upgrades at reduced costs. AT&T is also announcing that its new plans no longer include overage charges for exceeding data caps. AT&T subscribers won’t automatically be moved to these new plans, so current customers will want to compare these new rates and potentially save money with more data.
