Apart from some marketing materials, we have not yet seen Apple Intelligence image generation features in action. Image Playgrounds and Genmoji are not currently available in the iOS 18.1 Apple Intelligence betas; they are rumored to launch as part of the iOS 18.2 cycle later this year.

However, Apple has today shared a real-world example with WIRED magazine. Pictured above, adorned with a AI watermark applied by WIRED, it depicts Apple SVP Craig Federighi’s dog.

iOS 18 RC adds the ability to pause video recordings in the Camera app

During its iPhone 16 event today, Apple showcased some of the iPhone 16’s updated camera features. One such feature included pausing and resuming in-flight videos shot with the stock Camera app. Unlike the new Camera Control feature, which is exclusive to the iPhone 16 lineup, pausing videos is available on older iPhones running the iOS 18 RC. This addition makes it possible to do jump cuts between scenes within the same video file.

iOS 18 RC beta and more updates now available ahead of public launch

Apple has had a big day. Following the launch of the iPhone 16 and 16 Pro lineup, plus new Apple Watch and AirPods models, the company has released the RC (release candidate) versions of its major OS updates. iOS 18 and more are now available as RC betas ahead of their full public launch next week. They’re available both for developers and members of the public beta program.

Apple Music is getting a handful of nice upgrades in iOS 18 this fall. Some will arrive in iOS 18.0 in the coming weeks, and others in the 18.1 update expected in October. There are changes to the app’s organization, to much-improved SharePlay capabilities, a powerful iPad-only feature, and more. Here’s a look at the new features coming soon to Apple Music.
