Ming-Chi Kuo is out today with details on how the iPhone XS and XS Max are doing after the new phones launched last weekend. In addition to how much more popular the XS Max is compared to the XS, Kuo has specifics on what storage size and colors are selling best along with some updates on Apple Watch Series 4 sales and projections.
Further tests have confirmed early suggestions that the new radio tech in the iPhone XS significantly boosts data speeds on both Wi-Fi and LTE when compared to last year’s iPhone X.

Tons of Apple users are excited to pick up their new iPhone XS, XS Max and Apple Watch Series 4 today. Unfortunately, we’re hearing that Apple Stores are currently seeing downtime with the pickup and point-of-sale system, preventing customers from getting their devices.
Along with the announcement of upgraded IP68 dust and water protection on the iPhone XS and XS Max, Phil Schiller described a variety of other liquids that Apple tested the device in during the keynote. Now, iFixit is having some fun with those claims with some iPhone beer testing!

The first reviews of the iPhone XS and XS Max are out, and the story is incredibly consistent.
While reviewers do note that the iPhone XS offers notably better sound than the X, and the camera improvements impressed many, the overwhelming view was that there’s little here to justify an upgrade from last year’s model unless you want that giant screen.
If you currently own any of the older models, then the consensus view is that one of this year’s iPhones is a big upgrade – but don’t order one yet, because the iPhone XR offers most of the benefits at a significantly lower price …
